Accountability in the Practice of Mental HealthFriday, March 3, 2017 Friday Forums are cosponsored with the About the ProgramThe goal of this program is to teach participants how to clearly and efficiently document the intake, treatment plans, progress notes and therapy outcomes in a manner that would satisfy the most discriminating auditor. Topics include: measuring and quantifying behavior, diagnostic interviewing, and writing treatment plans and progress notes. The presentation is based on Dr. Wiger’s book, The Clinical Documentation Primer, which is used in many graduate schools. This program is at the intermediate level and is designed for psychologists and other mental health providers. This session qualifies for 3.0 continuing education credits. You must attend the full 3-hour program to get continuing education credit for the event. Participants will be able to:
About the Presenter:Donald E. Wiger, Ph.D., LP, is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in St. Paul. He has conducted seminars and consultations in documentation since the 1990s. He has written several books on topics such as clinical documentation, practice management, clinical interviewing, and record keeping. Dr. Wiger earned his Ph.D. in 1989 from Fordham University in New York City from the Department of Psychology, specializing in psychometrics. He has an MA (1986) in experimental psychology/psychometrics from Fordham University and an MS (Ed.) (1984) degree in counselor education from the State University of New York. The Minnesota Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
